Offline Capabilities¶

The HortiView platform is capable of being used offline or with bad network conditions. Caching data for e.g. the farm management from the main platform and caching static assets for the modules is being handled by the main platform itself.

This means that modules can be opened while beeing offline. The conditions that must be met for this are described in this chapter.

Why is this important?¶

A typical HortiView user may be a farmer who relies on a mobile phone or similar device while working in the field or in areas where internet connectivity is limited or unavailable. Offline capability ensures that users can continue to access the platform and its modules, regardless of network quality.

Achieving this goal requires several steps, depending on the desired level of offline functionality.
